Apply Workplace Safety and Health in Construction Sites

Course Overview

On completion of this unit, learners will have the skills and knowledge in applying workplace safety and health practices to ensure the safety of oneself and others at work in the construction industry by identifying own roles and responsibilities in construction job, following safe work procedures, adopting relevant risk control measures when working at heights and responding to fire emergencies

At end of the Course, Participants will acquire good knowledge & skill in Knowledge:

  • Identify legal obligations in workplace safety and health

  • Identify hazards in a construction site

  • Understand the Permit to Work System

  • Practice safety precautions (includes risk assessment) and response when working with different hazards, including Fire emergencies

  • Competent in wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

  • Able to understand and recognize all industrial safety signs

  • Able to work safely at height

  • Know the dangers and precautionary measures associated with Confined Space operations

  • Know the rights and responsibilities of workers working in Singapore

Course Outline

  • CE 1: Identify own roles and responsibilities as an employee in a construction job

  • CE 2: Follow safe work procedures in a construction job

  • CE 3: Follow safe “Work-at-Height” procedures

  • CE 4: Respond to fire emergencies 

Target Audience

The “Apply Workplace Safety and Health in Construction Sites” is a mandatory WSH training course for all workers working in construction sites.

Entry Requirements

  • Learners must be above 18 years of age and are assumed to:

  • Have employment status as manual labor to carry out construction work in building and engineering construction worksites

  • Be medically fit.

Assumed Skills & Knowledge

  • Be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to

  • Employ ability Skills (ES) level 2

  • Have good organizational skills

  • Be able to follow written and oral work instructions

Course Details

Course Duration: 18 Hours include of 2 hour assessment

Day Class: 2 full days (08.00am to 6.30pm)

Course Attendance Record: 100% attendance

Criteria for Online Learning

  • Every trainee must have a desktop/laptop that is able to access any required software.
  • Every trainee must have access to WIFI or adequate internet data at the place of his course attendance and webcam must be switch ON at all time.
  • Technical hotline available for assistance during training center operating hours.
  • Attendance taking shall be carried out based on trainee ID via NRIC or Fin.
  • Recording of all online session for audit

Day 2 (Practical & Assessment)

  • Physical In-Person

Assessment

  • 40 Multiple choice Question

  • Practical Demonstration Assessment

Certification

Results will be released within 1 week after course ends. Upon completion of the course and passing the examination, an e-Statement of Attainment (SOA) from SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) and a Safety Pass from Fonda Global Engineering Pte ltd will be awarded to you.
